Alex Lindsay this is a brilliant piece. My now 7 year old son is convinced he wants to learn audio editing skills. His reasoning is that he wants a job that will earn him real money before he’s old enough to drive to work.

Certainly he’s been influenced by a number of environmental factors — such as our Alexa and his love of listening to Audible on it, as well as our jointly geeky habit of tuning in to podcasts while we drive.

But what you’re saying is spot on. These arts / skills will continue to be in high demand in the foreseeable future. Why aren’t we as a culture taking the hint?
