Amanda O I looked at the Guardian’s study on costs for childbirth and was astounded.

Although they said costs for birth can vary greatly, I have 2 kiddos and paid far less than the amounts they quote for my prenatal care, labor and delivery costs, and postnatal follow-ups. Maybe it’s because I had my kids with midwives at a birthing center. Maybe it’s because my births were uncomplicated. But I paid $3950 total for each of my childbirth experiences. I live in TX, and these were in 2012 and 2016 respectively.

That said, I’m in agreement with your other 6 arguments. I just wanted to share my cost experience with you.

There is a fabulous book I’d love to share with you if you’re interested. Making Motherhood Work by Caitlyn Collins. It details a lot of facts you might find very interesting.

You’re correct in your premise, however. The reasons for the declining birth rates are NOT the fault of women specifically, or Millenials in general. I think it’s more because we’re facing the dissolution of our republic, and the collapse of our environment. It’s a tough time to be a parent.
