As Gen X, I got the idea that my accomplishments would be like the ones you described. At 45, I’m sitting in a similar boat. Smart. Writer. Jobless at the moment. Shuffled around to meet everyone’s needs but my own, so far.

I just don’t have a top-of-their-career spouse to compare myself to. My husband is also on this journey called self discovery.

If I get optimistic, I call this writer training. If I’m not, it’s so hard.

But I think writers are supposed to be late bloomers, right?
