Ever see the end of the movie (or the book) Ready Player One?

In it, the genius who created the immersive playground called The Oasis makes a point to the main character - that reality is the only thing that is really real.

In our dash towards the perceived safety of the metaverse, I feel like we’ve reached peak brain. Peak transcendence. Peak spirit if you’re feeling generous.

And where do we go after a peak? Right back down the other side into a trough. We’re headed back towards some visceral realities. Some messy matter-based existence issues - like idk, the climate, the health of our bodies, and the bloody dripping reality of birth and death. The cycles of nature never lie.

So we can go gently. We can turn towards regenerative community and practices of living.

Or we can run off the cliff and like Wile E. Coyote stand suspended in midair, before popping up a sign that says Oh Shit before plummeting to a long fall below.

Which way we go is really up to us!
