Every time I order my very occasional coffee bar treat, I stand and ponder the fixings stand.

4 matching, double wall, vacuum-sealed, stainless steel containers, each full of a different version of cream. 6 different sweeteners. Stir sticks and individually wrapped straws.

Now the straws aren’t made of plastic anymore. I don’t know if the change is a good first step, or a pathetic superficial lip service to the climate issues we’re facing.

It’s super surreal.
