Finding feminist equality via the methods the Kardashian’s use seems kind of akin to diving a spaceship directly into the sun to slingshot around the gravity well for the purpose of gaining speed.
It’s a fascinating topic to ponder. Your comparisons between the old book and the modern dynasty is honestly a little weird, but interesting. Creative for sure.
Feminism is an odd beastie. As is the culture that forged it.
I find myself writing to process and imagine the shift from the culturally conditioned objectification of the female form into a more self-aware, grounded, and centered version of what it means to be a woman.
Finding the identity and agency of the “self” that can make that transformation happen seems to indeed have something to do with how women feel about how women look.
It’s a weird thing. And you touch on it here.
Even if you didn’t read the book. 😉
Nice piece. Don’t let the critiques get to you.
