I’m pretty clear that the focus on profit is what ails us at the root. Wasn’t there a thing somewhere about ”the love of money?”

I once heard a quote that went something like this. If one monkey in a tribe hoarded all the bananas while the monkeys around them went hungry, we would wonder what was wrong with this monkey. We would study, and try to figure out ways to rehabilitate that monkey. But when humans act like this aberrant monkey, we put him on the cover of Forbes and hang on his every word.

Until we don’t.

Until someone shoots the broken monkey.
