What a whole lot of us women would like you to know.
I do not speak just to hear myself talk,
I speak so you might hear.
But the truth that is pouring out of my soul,
Often seems to miss your ears.
I do not ask for your permission.
I ask because I desire.
You are not in charge of me,
Whoever told you that is a liar!
I do not dance so you can watch.
I dance to nourish my soul.
I dance because the rhythm drives my feet.
The movement makes me feel whole.
I do not think just like you do,
I have my own perspective.
And just because I’m different than you,
Doesn’t mean that I am less than.
The world that centers on old white men,
Is dying a natural death.
The young, feminine, and colorful,
We bring a fresh new breath.
The revolution is truly genderless,
Because all people have a voice.
The men that choose to stand with change…
