I have a few friends and acquaintances who are trans. They’re awesome people. I fully support their right to show up as they are, to think and feel what they think and feel, and to exist without constraint.
That doesn’t mean that I’m not also still confused as to how to separate sex from gender. It’s confusing AF to watch someone you know change their gender.
So I’m with you. Respect and perspective are needed.
And being confused about how transgenderism works is NOT the same as being transphobic! A little patience and grace goes a long way in advancing the harmony of this topic, methinks.
