I honor and respect your right to decenter men. Goddess knows that our current social norms are uneven by miles and miles. I also get this is not about war - and it’s entirely about peace. Inner peace.

But as the mother of a daughter and a son, and a student of history, I’d love to see a world where instead of abandoning men altogether, we found a way to cocreate something better and more sustainable.

Maybe the 4B movement is the beginning of that shift. Maybe it will make space for men as a whole to get reflective and a hell of a lot more introspective. I would have given a lot to be part of that Icelandic women’s day off - what a day that must have been!!!

But the part of me that is feminine and connected to the deep union of masculine and feminine at the heart of the life force itself thinks this “leaving men to their own devices” may not be enough to create a better world.

Maybe I’m wrong, but I want the menfolk to step it up a little. As I see my son grow into manhood, I want him to be able to find a healthy version of love. Just as I do for my daughter.

Right now, that path forward is dark.

Great piece. I enjoyed the thought provoking things you wrote about and have no beef with you. May Kali guide us! Right?
