I just got into a HUGE argument with my husband about this. We were talking about our daughter and her beautiful eyes.

It's NOT absurd to feel insulted to be told "you are so pretty," when it's in the context of deeply desiring a more authentic connection than just the one engendered by a distant appreciation of our looks.

All we can really do is hope that like you, our daughter doesn't bite on the beauty bait either!
