I believe the disconnect from sex, and the disconnect from the body, is based in our discarding of the feminine dirty, messy, bloody, dripping, sacred and gorgeous immanence in unwitting favor of the transcendent, the mental, the masculine.

And if we do not find our sex, our world as we know it - will die.
