I’m trying hard to get away from the gender/genital camps in my essays. The language makes this fucking difficult, but what you said about self vs other is spot on.
Maybe the problem ISN’T that we are all different. Maybe it’s this fight-to-the-death idea that whoever is RIGHT gets to be in charge and have control over whoever isn’t right.
Maybe the domination mindset is the real problem, like my mentor Dr. Riane Eisler has been saying for decades. Maybe shame is just a tool in the domination-based toolkit. Maybe this is the water we don’t see ourselves swimming in.
I love coming onto a platform and having conversations with intelligent strangers who care, who come from a different perspective, and have the skills to articulate their opinions in a lucid way. It’s the polar opposite of soundbite outrage culture.
