I'd ride a bike, but I can't get onto the bike infrastructure of my town because the 5 miles of country roads between my house and the bike lanes have zero shoulder, lots of hills, and people driving cars quickly. I'm especially not going to tool around on a bike with my kids on the back on these roads!

That said, I really truly agree with you. We need to stop using so much oil. I'm about to trade in a bunch of my electric appliances for manual ones. While I still can! Bring on the water catchment, and solar panels (for what they're worth) while we still have this as an option!
