Why are people whose main difference in genetic expression is the color of their skin considered to be different racially?

What does race even mean anyway? And why is it only a term used to describe humans? I’m so confused.

I don’t want to be white. I just want to make the world a better place by being a better human being. I want to live in a world where we all stop constantly “othering” people that aren’t like us, and trying to “center” ourselves in the narrative of what’s normal, and…
