Maybe if we had not built a system of men, sitting on too of a pyramid of power, this situation would not be happening. Maybe if we stopped worrying about GDP, and stopped printing money like it was going out of style (another topic, but related) we wouldn’t be basing our marital choices on monetary potential.

I agree. Men are in crisis. Mark Greene wrote a phenomenal book called The Little #MeToo Book for Men that dives into the root causes of this crisis. I’d highly recommend it.

This is not a simple problem. But it’s an important one to address.

My husband isn’t college educated, and honestly he’s not money motivated either. But I value him and our relationship for many other reasons. I believe in the potential of men to heal the disconnect. And I hope the whole world is onboard to help. Otherwise we are screwed.
