Maybe the reasons these groups thrive is because of all the pressure trying to shut them down, shut them up, and discredit the science they use to express their concerns? Maybe if there was an open dialogue about the concerns of people on all sides of the discussions they’d be less likely to band together? Oh, and maybe if we hadn’t just gone through YEARS of the media blatantly lying to the populace about just about everything, there might still be a sense of trust?

Just some ideas on why this whole “push the party line and silence concerned dissenters at all costs” thing is a terrible strategy.
