My daughter raids my closet, remixed hand-me-downs, and asks for what she wants from Amazon. She wears costumes to school, including fairy dresses, full body metallic leotards, and combos of my gear safety pinned together with boots and thrifter sweaters. Part of why my kids go to private school is to escape as much of the ridiculous patriarchal indoctrination of girls as possible.
