My husband and I definitely skew liberal in many ways. We live in a little house on an acre and a half. But… we’re building a tiny house community to share the big garden and greenhouse with. So your point still stands. We like our little community feeling. I can totally feel where you’re coming from on the liberal conservative thing. It’s rather fascinating.
But have you ever researched the origins of the concept of property “ownership” and it’s effect on cultural development in the first place?
The idea that land (or animals or people for that matter) can be either owned by one person (private property) or all the people (the commons) stands in stark contrast to the idea that the land is alive and part of the great organism to which we all belong (most indigenous traditions.)
Funny how these invisible concepts have so much power in our world, and how clear it gets when you really start to dig in and uncover them.
