My kids are about to turn 10 and 7. Neither of them have gone to public school for all these reasons and then some. I don't want them to be completely domesticated in the hierarchical consumerist agenda of the muggle world any more than they are already.

We pay somewhere in the realm of $12K/year/kid to send them to a nature based, student-led learning, small private school here in Austin TX. It's so worth it.

Stick to your standards. For what it's worth - you're not the only one out there with high ideals.

Now fixing the system? That's a task for sure! I don't even know where to begin!
