Now try this experiment again after you hit menopause. Lol.
I've always been a fitness nerd and a healthy clean eater. This hasn't really changed much since I started cooking my own food in my 20s. Now in my mid-40s, I'm still 25 lbs lighter than I was in college - and it's mostly due to eating whatever I want - but wanting healthy foods for all the reasons you stated.
Cool experiment. Thanks for sharing.
The one thing I will say - is now that I'm older, I wonder things like - how much of what we think we look like is intrinsic? And how much of it is programmed by our culture? How much of eating clean is necessarily about how we feel? And how much about how we feel is about how we perceive others to see us.
I wrote about this here if you're interested in taking a look - https://medium.com/fearless-she-wrote/what-it-feels-like-to-be-looked-at-47bdd53c7ba5
