Perhaps the death drive is arising because we’ve had such a collective fetish for denying death for so long. The swing of the pendulum so to speak.
If we accepted aging. If we accepted dying. Maybe things would be so dang dark right now.

Maybe if we hadn’t tried so hard to harness and control Eros in the name of both profit and safety, Thanatos would not be released to wreak suck havoc these days.
Maybe the answer to tempering the Thanatos effect is to embrace both Eros and Thanatos in equal measure?
