Chaos is the engine that turns the wheel. If we’re being honest with ourselves, no matter which “side” we land on, most of us are probably pretty tired of the pathological political status quo.
Maybe Biden has been your guy — but is he really shaking things up with his 50 year old approach to governance? The systems that live behind our elected leaders are cracking and breaking like the house in Encanto, and we can all see it!
Or maybe Trump has been your guy — because despite his dramatic lack of anything even resembling integrity, you just really want someone who is interested in “draining the swamp.”
While this news cycle is being breathlessly dominated by everyone and their sister’s speculation of President Biden dropping out of the race for the 2024 election, maybe that’s just fine.
Maybe it’s a good thing.
Maybe a new Democratic candidate won’t cause division, but instead lead to the kind of desperate unification that’s usually only achieved after world shaking catastrophes.
After all, isn’t that what the polycrisis is? Or will be?
