I was appreciating what the author said in terms of men needing to step up their game in general.

So I agreed with the authors premise but wanted to put my own spin on the method of “stepping up.”

Then I was reflecting on how, for me, in my own lived experience, “stepping up game” means effort, not achievements. Levels doesn’t have to mean accomplishments, but instead can be about the approach taken and the attitude exhibited.

My husband is 100% a “qualified” partner who I love and appreciate even though he doesn’t have degrees and lots of outer world “power and clout.” He’s just an incredible human who shows up every day.
