There’s a modern filmmaker named Deeyah Khan. She’s a muslimah raises secularly in Norway, I believe. And she makes films about various extremist groups. But she goes and meets with them.
One (paraphrased) quote of hers from the Under the Skin podcast was, “I refuse to dehumanize people who dehumanize me, because if I were to do so, what would the difference be between us?”
