This is some truly sound writing advice. While I never relied much on ritual for writing, I once thought that I did my best writing on an actual keyboard. What has enabled me to break out of that rut was the realization that I would write a LOT more if I just allowed myself to blog on my phone. I write my piece, add my pictures, and save my draft. Then when I’m actually at my desk, I’ll add in my captions and edit the piece before posting.
I wrote a 4 minute read the other day hiding behind the kitchen island when I had theoretically assigned myself to do the dishes. Inspiration struck, and in 30 minutes I had a post completed!
The dishes got done later.
Also — on a side note — congratulations on being a phenomenal human. All that work you are doing is no joke, and it inspires me to continue my writing in the midst of a similar schedule!
