What Do You See When You Close Your Eyes?

A question for us all

What do you see when you close your eyes?
The darkness removes your need for disguise.
Yet still yourself you may not know,
For there is much that’s hidden far below.

The layers of the onion peel.
As time goes by and life reveals.
The truth we knew before we started.
That life on earth could be open-hearted.

If only we’d embrace our lessons!
Our torments could maybe start to lessen?
The floods abate & the fires burn low.
But still, we stubbornly say No!

So fuck us all and when we’re thru,
I’ll turn and wryly say to you.
I saw it coming, did you see my post?
But it won’t matter because we’ll both be ghosts!
