Why Does It Have To Be About Sex?
Have you no shame?
Why would I want to have shame?
I’m quite ready to ditch shame entirely. I’m trying to have no shame. There is lots of conditioning to overcome. Our culture shames sexuality. Our culture also promotes sexuality, but in a commodified and controlling way. This article will examine some of the reasons why this confusing duality exists.
Shame is but a tight fold in the garden hose of life. If you haven’t seen Brené Brown’s TED talks on vulnerability and shame, she breaks it down beautifully.
Shame blocks the flow.
It’s something created by humans out of fear of the fierce wildness of the creative principle. It’s at the root of how the patriarchy came to be.
I’m over it.
Why sex?
I can feel my Mom cringing when she reads this. Sorry, not sorry Mom. This is what’s true.
