Why Do Some People Have No Homes?

Is it because they like camping? And being alone?

Or could there be a confluence of stuff

That has made their lives unbelievably tough?

We’ll start with trauma.

Yep, we all have it.

It’s so easy to turn to addiction to manage!

If you’re hooked on drugs, or sex, or work,

You never have to face up to the damage.

It can be hard to keep a roof over your head.

When the monkey on your back has stolen your bed.

Addictions keep us from feeling the pain of our path.

Part of us alive, but then part of us dead.

The further away we get from our selves,
the longer that we want to stay.

Trauma disconnects us from ourselves.

And our addictions can keep us that way.

So trauma needs healing.

Or it won’t go away.

The more you ignore it the more it sticks around.

And pretending it’s their fault, whoever “they” are,
