Wow. You’ve written about so much I’ve been thinking about lately. It’s not an easy topic to tackle — that’s for sure!

Though I’ve not heard the term ecofeminism before, I think it was exactly the concept I’ve been searching for Dido Dunlop!

I was raised to be intellectual and physical. I’m a Gen X, bicentennial baby, lifelong martial artist, and (now I can see) object of false empowerment from the superficial girl-power movement of the 80’s and 90's.

I never really connected to my feminine side until after I became a mother. But with the increased demands on my own energy of tending the soil and water of our family, my ability to thrive in the spaces of fire and air waned rather quickly.

I started having health problems like insomnia, tachycardia, and a very short emotional fuse. I learned pretty quickly that such an approach was not going to be either (a) pleasant, or (b) sustainable.

As a result, and with the help of my local wise women, I decided to stop burning the candle at both ends and the middle by drastically reducing my intake of substances like caffeine and alcohol. I stopped smoking weed. I switched up my breakfast beverages to include bone broth and Dandy Blend and added lots of dark greens back into my diet.

I also gave myself permission to slow down, take my time with various creative projects, and savor the time I have right now with my young kids.

I’m nowhere close to perfect in making this switch, but the difference in my personal quality of life has been both positive and drastic.

I’m hoping we live in a fractal and quantum-based universe because otherwise we are seriously screwed. This lovely clip from Charles Eisenstein gives me hope. Sharing here because I think you might enjoy it.

Thanks for your insightful and integral writing. And blessed be!
