My son wasn’t delayed in speech, but by age 6 he really didn’t show much interest in learning to read. Then he went to school for a year and now he’s reading at a 9th grade level. He’s 8 now and a reading fanatic.

I do not know the specifics of speech delay, but I’d give it a few more years before I’d get worried. Just love him and feed him well. You got this.
